Jay Cooke State Park, August 2005

In late August 2005, we took a short camping trip to Jay Cooke State Park (near Duluth, Minnesota). We went with Rachel's mom, sister Jennifer, and cousin Mike Lapham visiting from Seattle.

We had beautiful weather for the three days we were up there.

After leaving the State Park, we drove into Duluth and spent a little time there.

Many of these photos were taken by Jennifer and shared with us...thanks!

Here we all are setting up camp. We had a big group camp site, really too big for just the six of us (we had thought that a few more family members might be coming).

There was a nice mix of shade and sun, and lots of nice flat tent sites.

Laura's tent! (She didn't actually spend much time in it on this trip.)

After setting up camp on Tuesday, we went out on a hike. Here are Laura and Rachel on the swinging bridge over the St. Louis River.

This is (I presume) Silver Creek (thus the name of the trail).
