Princess Martha’s Homecoming

Friday, October 14th, 2005 by Rachel

We just picked up our new addition to the family this evening….”Princess Martha”! “Princess” was Laura’s contribution to her name and Martha was her given name by her foster mom. Martha was born at a humane society after her mother, a golden retriever, was found tied outside the facility. Martha’s father is unknown but we think he was either a yellow lab or a golden himself.

Here is a picture of her after we brought her home. We first visited the yard and her new fenced potty area and then went in to the house. I told Laura that we needed to show Martha around the house because she had never been there. She instantly was excited! When we stepped into the house she said, “See! This is a nice house!”

New puppy on the way!

Wednesday, September 14th, 2005 by Jeff

We have just received notice that we are going to be adopting a new Golden Retriever puppy! The puppy is from a litter of nine, born to a Golden mother named Betsy.

Here is a picture of the litter:

We’re not sure which one of the litter will be ours yet, but we do know we will be getting a girl.
We are going to be picking her out on October 8, 2005, and then taking her home the next week.

See the RAGOM site and the photo gallery page for more information.

A new family member?

As some of you may know, our sheltie Elliot recently passed away.

We are thinking of getting a new dog, specifically a Golden Retriever. We’ve found an organization that adopts out rescued Goldens, and hopefully it will work out with them.

Princess

This picture is of “Princess.” Rachel has already fallen in love with her (although we don’t know if she’ll still be available when we get the ok to adopt).

Elliot Olson, 1994-2005

Our sheltie Elliot passed away on August 15th. He had a cancerous tumor in his leg and we had to put him to sleep.

We really miss Elliot and it’s been hard not having him around anymore. He was a loving, loyal, and kind-hearted dog.

Laura has been asking where Elliot is, and we tell her that he is in heaven with Jesus. She seems to think that’s ok.

Here’s a picture to remember Elliot by:

Ellie passes away

Tuesday, May 15th, 2001 by Jeff

We have some very sad news…Ellie, one of our two expectant mother guinea pigs has just passed away. She died around 6 pm on Tuesday, May 15th. We aren’t sure what caused her death, but she was carrying a very heavy weight of babies (at least three or four), and she may have just been too small to carry so many of them. We are very sad and we will miss her very much.

Our guinea pigs Ellie and Abby are both pregnant! The proud daddy-to-be is Melvin. Go to our new Guinea Pig Webcam to see a live picture of their cage.

Elliot joins the family

Yesterday we picked up another foster dog from Second Chance. He is a six-year-old sheltie named Elliot. Of course we think he’s really cute! Our sheltie Molly is her usual jealous self; whenever we start scratching Elliot, she’s right there demanding more attention.
